Services Performed
- Removed right front wheel and right front inner fender liner. Drained engine oil and engine coolant. Removed intake ducting, throttle body and all electrical connectors and vacuum hoses from upper intake plenum. Removed plenum retaining bolts and removed upper intake plenum. Disconnected all ignition coils electrical connectors, and mounting hardware. Removed ignition coils and removed all harness hold downs from valve covers and removed both valve cover assemblies. Removed coolant reservoir, supported engine with jack and removed front engine mount retaining bolts and removed front engine mount. Removed serpentine belt along with tensioner assembly and the harmonic balancer pulley. Removed all front cover retaining bolts and removed the front engine cover. Set engine to TDC on cylinder 1 and installed camshaft holding tools. Removed main timing chain tensioner, guides and the main timing chain. REmoved all four cam phasers with both secondary chains. Removed secondary tensioners. Removed all water pump retaining bolts and removed the water pump. Cleaned all sealing surfaces and installed new water pump with a new gasket. Installed new secondary tensioners and new secondary chains, re installed cam phasers ensuring timing marks line up and torqued. Installed main timing chain ensuring timing marks line up and installed new guides and a new tensioner and torqued. Assembled all previously removed parts in reverse order using new gaskets/RTV where applicable. Changed oil filter, added oil and filled cooling system. Primed oil system and started engine, bled cooling system and test drove to confirm no coolant leaks are present and to confirm proper operation of all engine systems. During test drive noticed slight exhaust leak coming from both mufflers, they are rusting at the seams.
