Could not confirm actual complaint, did notice a slight growling sound coming from accessory drive area. Using stethoscope listened to each pulley and found. -Tensioner pulley is very loud.
Removed right side splash shield and removed serpentine belt. Removed tensioner retaining bolt and removed tensioner. Installed new and assembled in reverse order. Started engine and confirmed noise is no longer present.
Changed oil and filter.

CHECK COOLING SYSTEM FOR LEAKS. CHECK FOR ENGINE CODES, IT WAS RUNNING SLUGGISH WHEN GIVING IT GAS.
Drained oil and cooling systems, removed battery and removed both front axle shafts. Removed exhaust heat shields, egr cooler and exhaust manifold from engine and removed hangar from engine cradle. Removed intake ducting, air box and intake manifold. Removed all electrical connectors from engine and transmission, set harnesses out of the way. Removed shift linkage, all cooling hoses, engine oil cooler and transmission dip stick tube. Supported engine and transmission and removed upper engine mount along with upper transmission mount. Set engine cradle on jacks and removed all cradle bolts. Raised vehicle from engine and transmission assembly. Removed valve cover and front cover. Set engine at base timing and marked timing chain, removed timing chain set. Removed all cam bearing caps and removed both camshafts. Removed cylinder head bolts and removed cylinder head. Cleaned sealing surfaces and installed new head and new head gasket. Torqued head bolts in sequence, installed camshafts and torqued all bearing cap bolts in sequence. Assembled all previously removed parts with new gaskets and re installed engine into vehicle. Changed filter, fill engine with oil and filled cooling system. Cleared codes and started engine to bleed cooling system. Once bled, took vehicle for test drives confirming proper operation.
