Test drove and confirmed complaint, hooked up scanner pulled codes and found. -P0751- Shift solenoid A performance or stuck off. While test driving monitored shift data and found TCM is commanding all gears with the correct gear ratios. Checked fluid level and condition and found fluid level is proper and fluid is clean. Back probed transmission connector and commanded shift solenoid one on and found the tcm is providing ground to the solenoid. Inspected fuse for shift solenoid and found the fuse is intact. While commanding the shift solenoid on and off there is no audible click. Will need to gain access to the shift solenoid for further diagnosis and inspection. Notified customer and they approved to removed transmission side cover for further inspection. Removed fuse panel, pcm, upper transmission mount and removed left side axle. Supported transmission with jack and removed front and rear transmission mounts and removed all cover retaining bolts. Removed transmission side cover and inspected over shift solenoids and found shift solenoid 1 is physically broken at the electrical connector. During further inspection found the shift solenoid had gotten hot and melted the electrical portion of the solenoid.
With transmission side cover already removed. Removed both retaining clips for both shift solenoids and removed both shift solenoids. Inspected over springs and shift solenoid valves and found no faults. Installed new shift solenoids, assembled all previously removed parts in reverse order. Filled transmission with fluid and let engine run until operating temperature was met. Confirmed proper fluid level, cleared codes and test drove. Confirmed transmission now shifts into all four gears and no codes have returned.

Hooked up heads, compensated and took measurements and found. Front and rear toe are out of spec. Set both sides rear toe to within spec. Set steering wheel straight and adjusted front toe to within spec. Test drove and confirmed proper operation.

Confirmed complaint, hooked up scanner pulled codes and found. -B1330- Control module power 2 circuit short to ground. Checked primary and secondary lighting control module fuses and found both are intact. Lowered spare tire and disconnected lighting module connector. Load tested powers and grounds and found secondary fused battery power is not present. Removed rear cover to connector and found secondary fused power wire has a pin hole and has corroded. Cut out corroded section of wire and reconnected using heat shrink connector. Now confirmed secondary fused battery power circuit will carry a load. Reconnected connector, cleared codes and confirmed code no longer returns and no check trailer lighting messages appear on the dash.
