Confirmed complaint, inspected over engine and found. -Oil pan gasket is leaking.
Removed skid plates and disposed of felt plates per customer request. Drained engine oil, disconnected all electrical hold downs and transmission line hold downs. Supported front differential with jack and removed all differential retaining bolts and lowered front differential. Removed all lower pan retaining bolts and removed lower pan. Removed all upper pan retaining bolts and removed pan. Cleaned sealing surfaces and installed new one piece pan with rtv. Modified two bolts to fit this pan and assembled all previously removed parts in reverse order. Changed filter, added oil and started engine and confirmed no leaks are present.
Performed rotation, inspected over vehicle and found no faults.

Could not confirm complaint of smelling exhaust in the cab, visually inspected over exhaust and found no obvious faults. However manifolds, cross over tubes and turbo exit are all under the lower intake plenum, Would need to remove lower intake plenum to properly inspect. Confirmed complaint of coolant smell and leak. Inspected over cooling system and found, -Molded hose end at coolant reservoir is leaking.
Disconnected upper charge air cooler tube from intercooler. Removed hose end from reservoir and drained the reservoir. Removed opposite hose end and installed new hose with new hose clamp. Filled cooling system and bled, confirmed no coolant leaks are present.

Cut open oil filter and did not find excessive metal debris. Test drove and confirmed complaint of a rattle at first and then the concern would not come back. Could not duplicate concern in the shop. Based on the sound the concern is timing chain related.
